“She gains a large amount of satisfaction from using her experience and background to help others realize the immense benefits of an active lifestyle … with consistency, commitment, and a positive attitude, anything is possible.”

Pretty much since Kelly could walk she’s been competitive in some athletic manner. Eventually, she opted for water as her preferred medium of exercise and attended the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana on a swimming scholarship. In college Kelly served as the swim team captain for two years and received a bachelors degree in kinesiology, with a focus on psychology and sport sociology.

After college Kelly moved to Colorado Springs with an invitation to be a member of the U.S. Resident National Triathlon Team. She lived and trained in Colorado Springs full-time for two years, competing in ITU style racing internationally. During that period Kelly won the Pan American Championship in 2002, was a member of the Elite World Championship team, and earned the USAT Elite Rookie Female of the year award. Kelly moved to Austin in 2006 and continues to compete as a professional triathlete, focusing on longer distance, non-drafting events.

Kelly began coaching fellow triathletes, cyclists, and runners of all levels in 2005. She gains a large amount of satisfaction from using her experience and background to help others realize the immense benefits of an active lifestyle. To Kelly, the beauty of multisport competition is its accessibility to a variety of athletes. If you can swim, bicycle, and run, you can do a triathlon, all it takes is a first step to get going. Kelly believes with consistency, commitment, and a positive attitude, anything is possible.
