Chad Holderbaum

Chad grew up in a suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where he was a three-sport athlete competing in hockey, track and cross-country.  In 2003, Chad transitioned to the sport of Triathlon and achieved success as both an age-grouper and professional athlete.  Chad graduated from Robert Morris University with a degree in Information Science and resides in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

In 2013, Chad successfully transitioned from amateur to professional racing. Chad’s highlights have included six top ten overall finishes at Ironman events and in 2017 he finished fourth place overall and first place American at Ironman Mont-Tremblant in Quebec, Canada.

Coaching since 2009, Chad holds certifications as a USA Triathlon and TrainingPeaks University Level I coach.  Chad’s athletes have achieved results including Ironman and Half Ironman age group podiums and wins, Ironman and Ironman 70.3 World Championship qualifiers, age group national champions and numerous overall race wins.

Throughout Chad’s career as a coach in the sport, the one general characteristic and theme in his athletes is their pursuit for excellence. Chad’s coaching principles are founded off of the athletes’ ability to develop patience, maintain consistency and grow their passion for the sport.  Chad also understands the demands and importance of successfully implementing a plan to provide a healthy work, family, social and training balance.

Chad has extensive technical and data driven expertise, which is coupled with years of real world coaching and racing experience.  This combination offers his athletes the ability to draw from sophisticated, but relatable methods, using quantifiable data.  Coupled together, athletes’ goals are realized through effective and proven methods and data analysis.
